December & January C.A.R.E.S. Luncheon

At the February C.A.R.E.S. assembly Mr. Whitmore announced the C.A.R.E.S. students for December and January.  He had lunch with them and served root beer floats.  Each of the students got a chance to play Mr. Whitmore’s Bop-it.

Geography Bee

The Geography Bee was held January 18, 2008.  Sixth grader, Willow Eastling took 1st place with her fourth grade brother, Isaac, taking 2nd.  Sixth grader, Destiny Jacobson, came in 3rd.  All students in grades 4, 5, and 6 participate in the Geography Bee.

Spelling Bee

The Spelling Bee was held January 22. All students participate in the Spelling Bee. The finalists from each grade were:
1st – Olivia Bean, Nathan Scheunemann
2nd – Paige Vruwink, Berg Diebel
3rd – Alexis Bean, Kaitlyn Scheunemann, Ashley Oleson
4th – Isaac Eastling, Jack Vruwink, Makenna Nieman
5th - Sierra Huser, Lucas Wundrock, Molly Fryling
6th – Ivy Hotaling, Colton Nieman, Whitley Lubeck

At the school finals, fifth graders Sierra Huser took 1st followed by Lucas Wundrock taking 2nd. Sixth grader Ivy Hotaling took 3rd. A big thank you goes out to retired English teacher, Mr. Marv Walloch for helping with the event.
